Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must first deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. ( Matt. 16:24 )

Mercy Toward Us!

James 2:13 declares that Mercy triumphs over Judgment.
Mercy means to have deep compassion upon. Webster defines mercy as a refraining from harming, or punishing offenders, enemies, or persons in one’s power.
A good case in declaring God’s mercy is found in John 8:1-12 when a lady was brought to Jesus who had been caught in the act of adultery.
The law declared she was to be stoned to death, but Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10), not to destroy them.
So Jesus challenged them saying, “He that is without sin cast the first stone.” They all left, leaving Jesus alone with her.
As He released her, he told her to leave her life of sin, and sin no more. Jesus became the judgment for our sins so that the mercy of God may transfer upon us.
God is the God of all comfort and mercy (2 Cor. 1:3). His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). God’s mercy is as high as the heaven is above the earth (Psalm 103:8).
The enemy is the father of all lies (John 8:44) and the accuser of the brethren (Rev. 12:10). One thing satan will lie to us about is the mercy of God.
Remember blind Bartimaeus cried out for mercy not judgment (Mark 10:46-52). Perhaps you feel you have blown it for the last time, but just open your heart to the Lord and be truthful with Him and you will find His mercy.
Praise God for His Mercy!
God Bless you, Pastor Paul |
