Focus on the Family began in 1977 in response to

Dr. James Dobson's increasing concern for

the American family.

The Internet is an increasingly important place to work,

 play and learn for both adults and children. At the same time,

we are concerned about the risks we face online.

The challenge  is to stay "one-click" ahead of would-be

pornographers, hackers, child-predators and those who would

misuse your and your child's sensitive information.

The Family Discipleship Ministry is a non-profit ministry

 that was established in 1994 to support, educate and train

 the body of Christ to serve the institution of the family.

To accomplish this goal we offer video and audio series,

workbooks and teaching seminars on parenting

children and teens, teen dating, youth mentoring and

spiritual discipleship training.

The vision of Family Discipleship Ministries is to equip

and support evangelical churches, enabling them to meet

the needs of the families  in their congregations. During the

 past nine years thousands of parents have completed our

biblical parenting class, over 450 children have graduated

from a one-year mentoring/discipleship program.

We have helped many hundreds of families through our

free online Christian parenting classes, parenting

questions/answers, discipleship  training, youth

mentoring, teen dating information and Christian

 family resource store.

every day, the Parents Television Council (PTC) was

established in 1995 as a nonpartisan group, offering private

sector solutions to restore television to its roots as an

independent and socially responsible entertainment

 medium.

Television is the most powerful medium in the world. It can

be a wonderful way to educate, inspire, and entertain

 America's children. Sadly it's doing the opposite and

undermining the positive values

parents are trying to instill in their young ones.

The PTC agrees that parents have the greatest responsibility

 when it comes to monitoring the viewing habits of their children,

but the PTC challenges actors, writers, producers, musicians,

game-makers and advertisers to get serious about the

vital role they play in shaping America's culture.

Parenting after Infertility Ministries (PAI) is a Christian-based

support ministry for those who have suffered through the heartache of

infertility and/or loss and are now blessed to be called Mom. Whether

you became a Mom through the gift of adoption, by a miracle pregnancy

and birth, or if you are a foster Mom, PAI offers a safe place for

you to share your joy and seek support from other Moms.

We understand how rewarding and challenging parenting can

be. We longed for and prayed for these precious children and

often feel guilty when we feel tired, cranky, overwhelmed, uncertain

 and frustrated. We may have innocently voiced our frustration only to

 hear, “You asked for this” or “I would give anything to be a parent.”

We may feel a heavy heart when we experience feelings other

than sheer joy! PAI offers a safe place to share your joy, seek advice,

 wisdom, encouragement and prayer from other Moms who do

understand. While parenting is our main focus, we do offer support

 when the painful scars of infertility and loss reappear. PAI is for those

 whose family is complete and for those who long for more.

"Ruth" means compassion;
"Harbor" means a place of refuge, safety, retreat, shelter.

Ruth Harbor is a 6-8 resident home located in Des Moines. It

provides young women who are alone and facing unplanned

pregnancies a truly viable option -- a safe harbor -- by providing

housing, education, counseling, health care, parenting training

or adoption assistance, spiritual support and more for the

 duration of their pregnancies

How to Quiet a Crying or Colic Baby  and  

Help Your Child Sleep Through the Night

There are people who care about each and every child. We

volunteer our time making much needed items for babies

 in NICU’s and crisis pregnancy centers . We Knit,

Crochet, Sew, woodwork and much more.

We make  afghans , hats, booties, mitts, Quilts, Layettes,

t-shirts, hospital gowns and whatever else needed.

We also give to parents who have lost a baby, through

miscarriage, prematurely, stillbirth exc.

We make special hand crafted burial items such as gowns,

buntings, wraps, keepsakes and whatever else is needed.

So HAIN has many ways to help families during their struggles,

 if it be loss, or a prematurity, or a sick baby we can all help.

March of Dimes

The mission of the March of Dimes is to

improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects

and infant mortality. We carry out this mission

through research, community services, education

 and advocacy to save babies' lives.

 March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators,

 outreach workers and advocates work together to give all

 babies a fighting chance against the threats to their

 health: prematurity, birth defects,  low birth weight.

Teen Drug & Substance Abuse

Help fight teen  drug abuse, we provide information

to help fight teen drug abuse by prevention,

intervention and have a support network for

those in need.
