Parents Television Council

Now nearly a million members strong and growing every

day, the Parents Television Council (PTC) was

established in 1995 as a nonpartisan group, offering

 private sector solutions to restore television to its roots

 as an independent and socially responsible

entertainment medium.

Television is the most powerful medium in the world.

It can be a wonderful way to educate, inspire, and entertain

America's children. Sadly it's doing the opposite and

undermining the positive values parents are trying to

instill in their young ones.

The PTC agrees that parents have the greatest responsibility

 when it comes to monitoring the viewing habits of their children,

but the PTC challenges actors, writers, producers, musicians,

game-makers and advertisers to get serious about the

vital role they play in shaping America's culture.

    Faith and Action is a Christian outreach whose mission

is to to reintroduce the Word of God into the public debate

 surrounding legislation and policy matters. Our mission

 field spans Pennsylvania Avenue, from the White House

to the U.S. Capitol and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Through news conferences, symposia, panel discussions,

 literature distribution, the Internet, and face-to-face

conversations with key Washington leaders, we gently

confront these critical public policy makers with

the powerful claims of the Gospel, as well

as reminders of the prominent role that the

Word of God played in the creation of our

nation and its laws.

Founded by twin brothers and fellow ministers,

the Reverends Paul and Rob Schenck, the

premise for Faith and Action is evangelism

 in word and deed.

Prisoner Alert

 
By becoming an ‘advocate’ you are entering into the

vital and important ministry of intercession and

solidarity with those who suffer for their faith in

Christ. As an advocate for our brothers and sisters in

chains you will be encouraging them when you write to

them in prison and supporting them when you write to

officials on their behalf.

Your involvement testifies of the love and unity found

among followers of Jesus Christ throughout the world. It

is a witness to both your imprisoned family and to they

authorities you write to or who may censor letters

 intended for the prisoner.

Your involvement is evidence to our persecuted family

that they are not forgotten. Often the oppressors try to

brainwash these Christians into believing that they are

forgotten, that they are not loved and that no one knows

about them.

Through this isolation and loneliness the

devil can prey upon their faith. When a prisoner

learns others are protesting on their behalf or when

they receive your letter, they know that

someone cares.
