Eight years ago, my oldest grand-daughter had a lump on her neck. 

She was  only three years old.  The doctors said they thought it was cancerous and started running tests.  You can imagine our feelings. 

  In my heart I couldn't bear the thought of her having such a horrid disease, so I asked God to give me the cancer and not her.

 My prayers soon came true as we were told my grand-daughter was

cancer free.  We were so relieved and thankful when we found out.
  There was one problem however.  I had forgotten the whole request,

or deal I had made with God. Within a few months, I was given "The News".  I had breast cancer!  Thankfully, it was in the very early

 stages. I was very lucky.  I went through the surgery and although

 it was there, it was still in the dormant stage.

  Still, the anger, fear and mixed emotions were there to be dealt with.  Although the doctors have reassured me that they thought I would be fine, I continue to deal with the fear that it will come back from year to year.

  I have had no sign of the cancer for seven years now.  In the past 2 weeks I just got word that the tests confirm I am still cancer-free.

  I owe this to God, for I know He watches over and protects me and my family.  I owe my thanks to Him and all the prayers from my family, friends, and others that God will keep me cancer-free.  If though, it ever did come back, I know that the good Lord would get me through it all once again!!

  God has taught me to pray for someone's healing before asking Him to place their sickness on me.  I am very thankful for that and you can be assured that I will always be careful what I ask for!!
