Today I met a friend!  Almost 30 years ago I met a kind, beautiful nurse.  She gave allergy shots to my son and she was so kind and gentle with him, it touched my heart. 

We weren't close neighbors or associates on a daily basis.  We've seldom seen each other over the years so you may ask, "How could she be my friend?" 

Well, what is a friend?  Is it someone you talk to daily?  Someone you confide your troubles to?  Not always.

A friend is someone who touches your life with a smile, a kind word,  or with compassion when you lose a loved one. 

A friend is someone who cares.  Someone who may not remember your name, but remembers your face after years of absence. 

A friend is someone who prays for you and cares that you are well and happy.  Someone who warms your heart with a smile and a hug after a long absence.  That's a friend!
